stitched on The Storyteller

yesterday was a snowy stormy day so I sat and stitched for a couple of hours. This is back in my rotation on Fridays.

Didn't get too much done on Friday

but here is what little I did get done.

I only got a little bit done last night but more than what was done so a little is better than none.

Dragonflight

Since I didn't have enough WIPs already (yeah right), I started Enchanting Lairs Dragonflight friday night. It is stitched on 32ct Frenzy Linen from Silkweaver. Right now everything is color 823, but there is tons of sparkle to be added in there after the fact..

I stitched!

I know, it's a miracle!

I worked on this long languishing ornament from Dragon Dreams. You see, I was going great guns on this way back in like March of this year. The castle was done and I had gotten all the green in on the left side of the piece. Then one fateful night I needed whatever green I had decided to use for this for something else. I clearly remember thinking "you'd better not take that green floss out of this bag-- you'll lose it." Well somehow I convinced myself I wouldn't lose it. You knew it had to happen right? I have no idea what I needed that particular green for nor do I know what green it was because Heaven knows I wasn't using the one the pattern called for.

So last night I hemmed and hawed and picked what I thought was the matching color. Did 8 stitches -- nope, not that one. Ripped out. Picked another color. Nope, not that one, but it's better. I stitched all of the right side green and realized part way through it that it still didn't match. Sigh. So I finished the right side green, ripped out the left side and restitched that. Now I match!

I capped off my evening by putting in all the snow. Now I just have to decide if I want to do the arched Heavens that the pattern shows.

Today gun season starts and Scott & Dylan are hunting. The night before the guys all get together and I am always included along with one other woman so I didn't get home til 10pm and was too tired at that point to pull out my stitching.

An update

Here's how far I've gotten on my dragon --


Yes, I know, not so far, but I'm liking it more and more by the minute. Those blues are so wonderful I can barely stand to stop stitching with them. And at Pals I had this great find-- I couldn't locate the Kreinik this called for and was going to use one that seemed kinda close -- but Mary saved me! She had the exact one I needed. Bless her!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, now that I look at the picture, I've actually gotten quite a bit further. I need a new pic! Already! It's a miracle.

I stitched on this last night and got another section done that I wanted. I am so glad that I am doing this with you and that another blog has a Friday night SAL because I use this piece for it.

Fantasy Friday

Last night was a SAT (stitchathon) with the Let's Stitch group so I decided to pull out TW The Storyteller. They do this every week so I will as well.

Not much Fantasy stitching done

so busy getting exchanges out, but soon will be down to only a few a year, so I will have more time to stitch for me. I have been planning though and have decided to do one wall of my room in these from Enchanting Lair..

a Fantasy weekend

I did stitch quite a bit on The Storyteller over the weekend. I am trying to make a goal for one small section every week and then it should be done in a year. LOL well I will try.

Fantasy Friday on Saturday

I didn't get a chance to stitch on Friday because I was way to tired but I spent Saturday on and off stitching on The Storyteller. Saturdays still might be a better choice for me than Fridays. If that is ok with all of you.

A Bit More Rocket

As a matter of fact, Chris, I have done some more stitching, especially backstitching, on Bothy's Cut-Thru Rocket. Now it is starting to look like a real rocket. Though I drooled over the pictures that Terry posted and really want to start Sleep Hollow by the Crossed Eye Cricket, but I don't have the chart. I suppose I ought to stitch some of the Miribilia mermaids I already have first, right? Plenty of fantasy around here to keep stitching forever.

I guess I joined this group just in time. ;-) I have started Bothy's Cut-Through Rocket. I don't think I will be able to stitch it on Fridays since my schedule is so dependent on travel, but I know I will be working on this for the next couple of months until it is finished. It is on my yearly goals list. Over half my goals are done, so on to the rest.

You might notice that I am not stitching this on the supplied navy Aida. Instead I substituted some Midnight Fantasy 32 ct Opalescent Belfast Linen from Silkweavers. I just don't like the finished look of aida, so I substitute fabric for any kit that includes aida.

This pattern has a lot of backstitching. When I finish the first section (the nosecone), I will start on the backstitching and try to keep it up, section by section. Can't wait to see what everyone else is stitching. Maybe I will get inspired to start some Miribilia mermaids or a Wentzler dragon next.

Howdy everyone. This is going to be fun.

Would anyone be interested in working on fantasy cross stitch projects on Fridays? Doesn't have to only be Fridays, but for those like me, that bounce around several projects, I'm going to try to designate Friday night stitching (at least part of Friday night stitching) to fantasy stitching.

I have too many patterns to pick from. Frankly I'm still trying to overcome the shock that I don't have a single fantasy UFO hanging around. How the heck did that happen????? Wait a minute! I do have one. I have my Halloween Fairy from Mirabilia.

I could finish her up with relative speed, but ohhhhh, the call of a new pattern is so strong.
